We are excited to introduce 'The Tape Reset EP' by Woxow, out now on Little Beat More!

This deeply reflective instrumental work marks a pivotal moment in the creative journey of Woxow, beatmaker, producer and mastermind at our beloved LBM, offering a nuanced exploration of the sound of our society.
Unlike his previous works, in which he teamed up with the lyrical prowess of rappers in order to convey his message, 'The Tape Reset' is a statement of Woxow's solo artistry in the realm of soundscapes, this time using only vocal samples from films or archive videos. In this album he weaves a tapestry of emotions and ideas, collaborating with a selection of musicians to create a sort of 'Woxow Quartet' together with Christophe Leloil on trumpet (living legend of French jazz and an eminent member of Archie Shepp's Attica Blues Orchestra and Famoudou Don Moye's Odyssey and Legacy Trio), Diego Grassedonio (The Sweet Life Society, Rhabdomantic Orchestra, Chalanga) on sax and flute and Timo Jolivet on bass.
"The Tape Reset" is a compact yet thought-provoking journey through a genuinely political artistic lens. The journey begins with a ‘Birth', the place of innocence par excellence, then venturing into the disorienting chaos of contemporaneity in an endless search for truth, finally arriving to encourage common action in the face of adversity, in the last track 'Move On'.
At the core of this EP is Woxow's contemplation of the dystopian, dictatorial and authoritarian facets of the modern world, a theme that deeply resonates throughout his work, inviting listeners to navigate the labyrinthine corridors of social control and day-to-day life.
The EP includes visual artwork by artist Aldo Giannotti, whose minimal black-and-white illustrations synthetically narrate the album's concept: the tortuous entanglements of power, the manipulative aggression of the media, and the frightening conformity of the masses.
